An intimate space in the Gold Coast's Raffaello Hotel, Pelago Ristorante lures diners with its dishes and decor alike.
Michelin-starred Chef and Owner Mauro Mafrici combines recipes from both northern and southern Italy, fusing the best fare of the regions with sincere expertise. Mafrici is known to take great pride in his cooking, frequenting the dining room to greet his guests and ensure that they’re having the utmost enjoyable culinary experience. The Swordfish Carpaccio is not to be missed, and is one of several delectable seafood dishes on the menu. Mafici’s wife and partner, architect Kimberly Anguil Mafrici, is responsible for the design in the space, which includes Italian porcelain chandeliers, Mediterranean-inspired aqua blue glass, a mother of pearl mosaic fireplace, and a nine-foot painting by Treviso native David De Biasio. The mood in the restaurant is one that entices the diner to linger through the meal and experience all aspects of the food as well as the surroundings–an easy feat when the dishes are artfully presented and stirred with authentic flavor.
