Piccolo Sogno, which translates to “little dream” in Italian, is Executive Chef/Owner Tony Priolo and Owner Ciro Longobardo’s dream Italian restaurant, featuring fresh, seasonal rustic Italian cuisine, and an all-Italian wine program.
Piccolo Sogno is a sure-fire hit in the Chicago dining scene. The restaurant offers simple food, prepared by hand with a love and tenderness only found in Italy. Inside of the Venetian-plastered walls full of Italian accents, the menu complements the intentions, offering classic regional Italian dishes including housemade pastas, breads, gelati, and pizzas prepared in the restaurant’s wood-burning oven. Sample the Burrata con Culatello (Pugliese and hand-stuffed mozzarella with artisan-style prosciutto) to start and then move on to one of their many pastas like the Paglia e Fieno con Ragù (green and white ribbon noodles with a veal ragù) or the Pesce Intero (whole wood-fired fish of the day baked in a Sicilian sea salt crust). Many of the ingredients come from local resources, while the more specialized foods are brought in from Northern Italy for that full flavor. Partnered with the food is an all-Italian wine list with 450 different wines, organized by region. For that feeling of dining in the Italian countryside, it's Piccolo Sogno.
