Carnivores with a craving for grilled meat can flock to Folkore, a new Argentinean dining destination in Wicker Park.
Created by the owners of the ever-popular Tango Sur, this new steak-centric spot focuses on special Argentine cuts of grass-fed beef. And, unlike its BYOB sister spot, Folklore has a fully-stocked bar, robust wine list, and plenty of creative cocktails, including pisco sours, caipirinhas, and mojitos. The expansive menu features an array of chef specials, empanadas, grilled beef, pastas, and salads. Sample the Vacío Relleno-a half slab of range grown flap meat sliced and filled with olive oil, garlic, and parsley sauce and served with roasted sweet potatoes atop a tableside grill. World and Argentine music set a vibrant tone while candlelight adds a warm ambience to the dim dining space—a spacious room with exposed brick walls, tin ceilings, and iron light fixtures.
